Internet is a one-on-one application. Contrary to Television where a given TV show is broadcast uniform to all consumers, Interniet is a medium that is (largely to due to smartphones) becoming a one to one medium. Where personalization and unique experiences take center stage.

There is a large class of applications on the Internet that are ultimately one-on-one experiences. I’m referring to “social” apps, any app really that has any kind of feed that is tailored to a user, think of any shopping experience, news feed etc.

It’s what’s going to save us in the coming “Second Machine Age”, “Singularity” or however else you want to call the predicted incoming domination of machines.
